Re: Kids walking to & from school in Y6

We've got to do it at some point though - I won't be walking him to school when he's 16. So it is really useful to understand when people have started. Thanks for the replies so far

Kids walking to & from school in Y6

Hi,

We're thinking of moving schools for our son in Y6. The new school is a 25 minute walk away between the commons. At what point did your kids start walking to and from school without you in primary - if they did? Especially if 10 minutes walk or longer. Thank you!

Re: Bolingbroke Academy

Hi, piggybacking on this - can a Bolingbroke parent tell me if the classes have sets or streams in y7/8 please? Would also be interested in broader feedback on the school. Thanks!

Moving to a private school in Y5

Hi,

Has anyone moved their child to a private school in Y5, predominantly to help with secondary prep? I'd love to know how it went for you. And relatedly, do you know of local (balham/clapham) schools with spaces in y5? Thanks

Bolingbroke- non-feeder schools Sept 2024

Hi

Does anyone know if any kids got into Bolingbroke this year from non-feeder schools? They have every previous year but I can't get the information from the council or school yet this year. Thanks!

Re: Senior/secondary schools restricting phone use

The pace public opinion and schools are moving on this is great. There is a huge difference between banning smartphones even being brought to school and putting them in lockers. I believe the Emanuel (and maybe s&c) approach is also to discourage families from getting their kids smartphones at a...

Re: Honeywell Infant School / Rutherford House School

Two kids at Rutherford here too. They are really happy there, lovely kids and teachers. I strongly recommend but I'm sure they are both great options

Re: Graveney vs Bolingbroke

No but there are options - there's space in feeder schools or if you live close enough there have always been places for non-feeder kids by August. Do you have feedback on the school?

Graveney vs Bolingbroke

Hi, Having run the numbers on private secondary schools, we are stepping up our state school research. Has anyone had the choice between Bolingbroke and Graveney recently and can give any guidance on your thinking? Or just current experience for kids at either? We know how different they are in size...

Re: Kids friendly club with swimming pool

It's a huge gap in the market. Birch has just gone into administration. Every winter we consider David lloyd for exactly this but it's not very close and gets poor reviews. I would pay a lot for a local country club with both outdoor & indoor pools!
