Re: Upholstery Recommendations

I've used Polly Granville to recover some antique chairs. She's excellent and has her workshop under the rail arches in Brixton.

Re: Range Rover Sport Stolen Ellerton Road Friday 11th Jan Keys Not Stolen Method Unknown

I have had this one for a year and it works perfectly (apparently not all of them do). At £7.99 for 2 with free Prime delivery it's the bargain of the century. I've also got a disklock for when I park on the road or ca...

Re: What ARE they doing boring holes on Wandsworth Common??!!

Phew, I hope you are right NSC. I've lost track of what's happening with Crossrail but hope they dumped that idea of having a huge air-vent on the Common.

Re: St Johns Hill - Kaosarn - new restaurant?

I'm surprised Kaosarn closed (if that's what you mean) because I thought it was pretty good. Maybe too much competition or rates too high. I love the sound of Roman pizza though ...yummo.

Re: Lorry collides with railway bridge in Balham sparking train disruption

You shouldn't have to know about construction and engineering Denwand, but you'd expect the businesses who run the lorries to, surely? If the photo is right then it was coming from or going to Wilko - closest branch just down the road at Tooting Broadway. You'd think Wilko would know about clearance...

Re: These are the six Wandsworth councillors who have failed to pay their council tax on time

I agree. Being a repeat offender Council tax dodger as a serving Councillor should be a sackable offence. Why don't they just set up a direct debit or standing order like most of us do, then they don't have to think about it??

Re: Canada goose or Woolrich

Yes, it's pretty bad isn't it. I just got another message from Peta about it and it's not just the trapping of the coyotes. It's also the treatment of the geese

Re: Canada goose or Woolrich

I'm so glad to see that several of you are also aware of this! I haven't heard of the Woolrich brand but I would never buy Canada Goose. PETA has been reporting on how Canada Goose gets those fur trims for ages and there have been many petitions doing the rounds:

Re: which universities are about to go bust?

Nothing to do with Brexit. It's because Tony Blair (or whatever idiot it was) decided that everyone should go to "university" and then loads of kids did exactly that with high hopes and came out with "qualifications" from crap places and couldn't get the jobs they wanted, i.e. kids who got "law degr...

Re: Mini cab company recommendations - to take a woman in labour to hospital

We phoned for a London black cab to get from Balham to St Thomas and this was about 1am. He was brilliant - tried to distract me by telling us all about his kids. I was so worried about how we were going to get there but it was really fine. When we got there the ambulance guys said that I should hav...
