Luxury holiday for single parent

Hello, would anyone know of a hotel or club where there all loads of single parents with children please?
A place of very good standing please.

Really keen to hear.  As a new divorcee, I don't want to end up looking that the vulture woman (which I am not by the way!). Thanks!

Re: St Paul’s School

I would take it by the other end of the stick, call the school, ask them if they have anyone coming from Clapham, and if so, whether they can pass your details to the parents as you'd like their advice. I would think, especially if it's the overground and without change, that at that age it's OK. Le...

Re: What DO we want on Northcote Road???

I second Farrago on Battersea Rise. Real good fresh food, I'd hate for them to go. They are lovely too.

There is not many options now when it comes to independent restaurants of good quality, we seem to be left with chains... a shame really.

Re: Afterschool nanny - cost per hour?

And I also wondered, how easy is it to find an after school nanny compared to a part time of full time one? Is there a lot of demand for these jobs as the hours are fairly limited?

Re: Swimming lesson for 4 years old

I strongly recommend Swinway lessons.
We had started with Puddle ducks group lessons but in the end our daughter was not doing much there and was just playing, the Swimway lessons have proven to be way more efficient. More expensive, but higher return on investment I believe.

Weight loss 1 week programme with coach / chef in London - Reco needed

Hello, I am off work at the end of January, and I'd love to do a "re-set". I have looked at some weight loss retreat, but somehow I am thinking that I'd like to stay home. I don't care about the fuss of going to Spain or wherever, I just want some coaching during the day around my meals, some exerci...

Re: Ecole de Wix Lycée Francais Charles de Gaulle open morning Monday 26 Nov

I dont like to rant online but..I've called them a good dozen of times since September asking when they'd have an open morning. They kept saying "we have not released the dates yet". And now, they are advertising, on Thursday for the following Monday, that there is an open morning. Is this the sign ...

Re: Primary Schools Clapham/Wandsworth

Heya, We were in the exact same position as you are 2 years ago and asked ourselves the same questions. We started looking for a house, having mapped all the schools and registered our child into those that require early registration. Then we decided to visit them. We're both working parents and yes...

Re: Hornsby House registration

Well said dudette!

Yes at birth in theory. We visited it some time ago and the registrar was really honest with us telling us that we were unlikely to get in as we had waited a year, but that if we could spare £75 it was worth trying still. I would call him.

Re: Going rate for a cleaner in SW11

I second the people who pay more and have a reliable cleaner...  I started at 10h/hour 7 years ago and now I pay my cleaner 15/hour, plus presents at Christmas etc.. She has been really faithful, came to check our house whilst we were on holiday and the alarm rang (of course!), if I really forget to...

How did you manage to enroll your child for swimming lessons at Latchmere or Clapahm Leisure Center?

Whenever I call they say it's fully booked and I need to keep calling. It is just not sustainable. Isn't there a wait list or something better? Help very much welcome as my daughter loves swimming and she's about to turn 3!!

Re: What’s the property market like in SW11 now?

Nobody gets offended. People fear rejection, but what's the worst that can happen really? Remember the value of a house is the price that people with the finance available are ready to pay for it. Not the estate agent estimate. Not the zoopla prices. Don't be scared. I'd also always back my offer wi...
