Re: Did you receive a present for giving birth?

No I didn't but some of my NCT friends did. We were too busy saving and sorting out selling our flat and buying a house. But I think it's a lovely idea and does not have to be hugely expensive. That year we moved to our house with a baby and preschooler my husband told me my birthday present was the...

Re: What DO we want on Northcote Road???

Good point about business rates.
Tooting has lately had a restaurant with a Michelin mention which just goes to show how talented independents can thrive of they could afford to in the area.

Re: What DO we want on Northcote Road???

Yes! would love an Ottolenghi. I worked in the first one in Westbourne Grove for a bit after finishing university. Yotam was so nice and friendly and so very talented. I am not surprised he has expanded and become so famous since. I agree with the boredom with pizza and burgers. The other restaurant...

Re: What DO we want on Northcote Road???

Yesterday I overheard some residents talking about seeing large rats which they'd never seen before ☹
After bagging up left food rubbish on their doorstep.
I do wish people buying food to consume outdoors clear up after themselves.

Re: Advice on Hypoallergenic cats

No movement on the pet front from us at all yet. We need to have my husband go for the allergy test and with lockdown and rocketing covid rates plus the 2021 11 plus horror show, we haven't managed to at all. But good to know about Bengal's being hard work! ( They are so stunning though) thank you. ...

Re: NYE party in the street

I hear what you're saying but looking at America right now it doesn't bode well for all of us in democracies well when we allow lies to spread because of freedom of speech. I hate the school closures too and can see the damage in my household so can only imagine what it is like for those deprived- i...

Re: can someone please clarify, are cleaners allowed in lockdown

Yes Chorister I think you are right and I will reiterate that her not coming in for a few more weeks will mean she will still get paid regardless. She insisted she wanted to but perhaps I should have insisted too. Apparently 1 in 50 people have coronavirus in England now. With higher numbers inevita...
