Piano for sale - ideal for learners

We want to sell our piano. It is a nice little piano, which cost £1500, and our son learned to play on it. It needs a little TLC (one key doesn't work, and it needs tuning) but it has a lovely sound. Varnished with brass fittings (looks very nice when polished). Dates from 40s. Width: 52.5inches, He...

Re: Graveney

Hi, sorry but it's not true to say it's only on how they do in the Wandsworth schools test. That is the way you get in if you don't live in the catchment area. If you live in the catchment area (which admittedly is very small) you get in. The siblings policy is changing I believe. Basically if you d...

Re: Can anyone recommend a good vet close to Wandsworth Common?

Not at all - new puppy and just don't really want to go back to old vets because of sad memory association

Shop online AND earn money back for your kids!

Just thought I'd let you know about KidStart - if you haven't tried it already, it's fantastic. Basically every time you shop through them you get money back for your child's bank account (or your bank account). They have all the top baby brands and stores including Boden :D House of Fraser, Debenh...

Re: Piano wanted

I actually have a piano I want to sell... it's a nice compact one. It needs tuning (about £50 should do it) and one key needs replacing but it's a nice piano, looks great with a lamp and my son (now 15) learnt to play on it. I'm looking for upwards of £200.

Re: Husbands don't owe you a meal ticket girls...

I agree men don't have to provide for women just because they live with them/are married to them, but when there are children involved it's a different matter. If the man is earning more than the woman, he has to help provide a roof over his children's head, contribute to their schooling and clothes...

Re: catchment areas for honeywell and belleville

I rang Wandsworth Council this morning to check this out. Basically there is no such thing as a 'catchment' area, because they're state schools they have to be seen to being fair to everyone - they're very adamant about this. So places are awarded in the following order: 1. siblings and 2. distance ...

learn to cook with Jamie Oliver!

OK, well, maybe not with him in person... but Jamie's brand new Recipease shop in Clapham Junction (opposite Marks) is fantastic - you can go in and learn how to make various scrummy dishes, which are then beautifully packaged for you to heat up at home. I made a delicious crumble and a pizza and m...

Re: Local restaurants

Dexter's on Bellevue Road is OK for large noisy gatherings - they sort of leave you to it, although I find the food is a bit hit and miss. I like Piccolino's (www.piccolinorestaurants.co.uk) - it used to be Est Est Est. The food is excellent, they do a 'bambini' menu and while they do do pizza, ther...

Club Med or Mark Warner?

I'm trying to choose a holiday for next Whitsun - we're travelling as a family of five and we've decided we should go for a Club Med or Mark Warner, so that the kids can go to the clubs during the day while I relax with my book and the husband practices his windsurfing techniques. But which one is b...
