Re: Thomas's Battersea Year 1 Uniforms

Hi there. If you contact the school they should be able to put you in touch with the second hand uniform shop, although I’m not sure if that they have access during the holidays. Also they should be able to put you in touch with your form PTA rep, perhaps someone can lend you some uniform?

Re: Thomas’s battersea family to speak to?

The gossip is unfair.   It is (in our direct experience of two children) a warm, happy, nurturing and supportive environment.   I would go with your instincts given you have actually visited!

Re: Help been offered to move children to a different school

They are young enough to move and be happy -  if there's more on offer at the potential new school then I'd go for it!

Re: Plumber

I am looking for a grey waste pump to be removed and the new one installed  - it is wired in as well as plumbed.  Is this a job you can do with one person?

Re: Husband not helping with kids despite working from home

Obviously I don’t know what sort of work your husband undertakes, but it might be that things take longer to do / organise from home than in the office. This is true for my work (financial, full time). The volume of work has also increased (not a bad thing!) but in some ways has sometimes been more ...

Re: Waitrose Deliveries

I don’t think one delivery a month is excessive or ridiculous!

Re: Devastated by husband's announcement

This rings almost exactly true to the situation a friend of mine found themselves in. Trust your instinct, it is very likely there is someone else and the lack of interest in counselling (also exactly the same as friend) is telling - does not want to try to save things. I am so so sorry, this is a h...

Re: Northcote Road - Cath Kidston Closing

the Battersea Park Road Kitchen is the original site, Norhcote was an expansion. Guess it didn’t work out and they cut their losses.

Re: Thomas's Battersea vs Thomas's Clapham

Hello. I am a happy Battersea parent for the last 9 years. We chose the school partly on the basis of the easier school run. I agree with the poster above : consider the journey to and from school! We walk to school, and are mightily glad we don't have to sit in traffic.

Re: Best of luck to Prince George and other pupils starting school this week!

I am not offended but another factual correction. *Two* people didn't manage to "sneak" in to the school this week. The other one was in the school holidays when it was a building site and weeks away from the start of term. That said, someone posing as a teacher to gain or attempt to gain access in ...

Re: Best of luck to Prince George and other pupils starting school this week!

Sundance's comment is spot on and I can confirm 100% factually correct. As a Thomas's Battersea parent, some of the media coverage and social media commentary has been an excellent lesson in never to believe everything you read in the papers! We couldn't be happier with the school whether royalty is...
