''This is the horrifying moment a thug in the back of a car pushes a cyclist into a bus stop during an overtake on a busy road.

Police are investigating the shocking footage which shows the rider being shoved off his bike on a road in south-west London.

It is believed the video was filmed on Balham Hill and that the man was riding his bike along a stretch of Cycle Superhighway Seven.

In the clip, which was posted on social media this week, the occupants of the car can be heard sniggering as the car approaches the cyclist, who wore a helmet, a hi-vis backpack and dark clothing.''

I'm sorry to say that this is not an isolated incident. Without going into the pros and cons of cyclists v drivers (because it's divisive in itself), let's just say that a cyclist is very, very vulnerable on the road. Whatever mode of transport (including pedestrians) we use, we all need to take more care.

What class of cretin is stupid enough to:

1. Push a cyclist off his bike.
2. Film himself doing it.
3. Post the incriminating film on social media.

Let's hope they find him and he serves a short spell at her Majestie's pleasure.

There is a lot of anger between cyclists and drivers at the moment on the cycle super highway.

Two weeks ago a 15/16 year old boy was knocked off his bike by a driver, I noticed him flying into the air outside my shop. I don't know if the boy was messing about or not, but the driver didn't stop. He got away with just a cut, very fortunate as he had no helmet on. He wouldn't let me call the police.

On Saturday it sounds like from what people told me (not not definite) that the cyclist that crashed, had crashed into the Van rather than the other way around. This is what closed the stretch of Balham High Road for over an hour on Saturday morning where my shop is. He also wasn't wearing a helmet. All the passers by flooded to helping him and the Ambulance was here in minutes. It was nearly the same spot as where the teenager was hit the other week.

So please, drivers, keep an eye in your blind spots and use your indicators, and cyclists, please WEAR HELMETS and be aware that you can be in a driver's blind spot.

I hope the man who was taken away in the Ambulance on Saturday is okay.
