wrap around + basement extension Post Reply

Hello,
 We moved to clapham south last year and finally decided to redevelop our house.We want to do a wrap around extension and dig out the basement.   Could anyone recommend a good and reasonable architect/designer? Please we're not interested in self recommendations or biased ones ( e.g. recommending your partner/husband/wife). Only interested in real genuine recommendations.Many thanks Charlotte

We're doing a basement and rear extension in clapham south and using Decimus Design (www.decimusdesign.co.uk). They're good and easy to work with. Happy to recommend them.

We are using Kevin Clarke at KJC Architects http://www.kjcarchitects.co.uk/contact.html
He’s been great and I definitely recommend him.

However if I had to start our project again, I might not bother with an architect and go to a design and build company where they do everything from architectural design to build to interiors in one place. I would recommend speaking to Judy Gillard (White & Rose) who is an interior designer but works closely with a builder (who we very nearly switched to). We used Cavendish Basements for our basement project. We thought we'd need to find an architect but luckily they employ their own architetchts which made the process a lot smoother!

Hi All,

Thank you so much for your recommendations. 

I had a terrible experience in the past with builders that offer design and project management services. Jack of all trades master of none..   rather use an independent architect/project manager. I will get in touch with the other firms recommended on this thread and get quotes. Will keep you posted on how we're getting on.
