donating teenage clothes, cuddly teddies and toys? Post Reply

I'm sure many people are having a clear out during lockdown! My daughter has just cleared out her cupboard and has lots of really good quality girls clothes (aged 10-13) that she would love to donate to somewhere. We also have lots of great quality teddies and other toys that again I would love to give to a deserving cause. Does anyone know if women's refuges need clothes for the kids or any toys and games?  I hate having to just dump everything in the recycling area of the tip. thanks so much

You could try Little Village for the toys and list the rest on OLIO.  I have used both for giving away childrens clothing and toys etc and recommend!

I was going to say exactly the same. Little Village can only take clothes up to age 5, but you could definitely find a good home for them on the Olio app. I recently gave away lots of my 11 year old daughter's old clothes on there and the lady who collected them was so grateful.

We have been using the “trash nothing” app, formerly called Freecycle for giving things away. It means you are mostly helping out people local to you, and it has worked really well for us. I agree it’s a much better option than leaving things at the tip where they might be exposed to the elements and more likely to get damaged before they can be used.
