4 Plus Assessment Preparation

Postby Jess from Mentor Education » Thu Aug 17, 2023 2:37 pm

Here at Mentor Education we have a very successful 4 plus preparation programme. We have an excellent track record preparing children through a blend of mock assessments and coaching sessions around specific development areas. The work is led by expert early years specialists all of whom either teach at selective local schools which use the 4 plus or have a track record of getting children into these schools. All are fully qualified teachers. All the staff are further trained in our own methodology which is considered to be industry leading and one of the reasons we won Tuition Agency of the Year last year at the main industry awards.

Last year around 60% of our students got into DUCKS (Dulwich College), Alleyn's and JAGS where normally only around 10% of applicants are successful.

Our work is based around our 4 Plus Pillars which are all about helping children develop the right behaviours to learn and to display their full potential. It is not about attainment measures like Phonics, Counting or Writing - which have no bearing on the 4 Plus. The children have a lovely time and see all the sessions as a fun play date.

We limit numbers for our programme so that we only help 10 girls or 10 boys who are applying for each school. If you are interested please do contact our office for a initial consultation. 0208 883 2519 or hello@mentoreducation.co.uk

There is also a lot more information about the 4 Plus Assessment on our website and school specific pages covering details of the 4 plus assessments at Alleyn's, JAGS and Dulwich (DUCKS).

The Alleyn's 4+ application window opened today. There is a section on there where you can tell the school about your child and their interests. Do not panic that this is a sort of mini UCAS form for three years olds. Rather this is an opportunity for you to give information which will help with the "talking with adults" part of the assessment. This is one of the key 4 Plus Pillars. You should look to give good topic starters for a teacher to have a good conversation with your child.

We have a full 4+ service with an excellent track record at Alleyn's, JAGS and Ducks. Do please call us for a consultation on either completing this section of the form or for more general support.
