German speaking childminder wanted

Postby Sandy_G » Fri Aug 25, 2023 2:03 pm

Hi everyone,
My daughter Ava turned just six months, I am probably returning to work next year Feb/March, and I am looking into child care atm. Unfortunately the German Kindergarten at Herne Hill is too far away for me as we are based in the heart of Balham.
So I wanted to try to find a nice Childminder which speaks German as I am from Germany and am the only one speaking German to Ava. It would be nice if the group being looked after isn’t too big either.
Does anyone have any recommendations by any chance as I don’t know where to even start to look for something specific like that, I’d be very great full for your input.

Thanks, Sandy :D

unless the other children are German, that could be difficult for the childminder tbh.
As she probably will speak English when all the kids are there.
A German speaking nanny is a better option.Depending of course your budget

Hi Sandy

Just wondering what you arranged in the end? I’m also in the heart of Balham and would love a German speaking childcare option.

I am half German and would like my daughter exposed to the language beyond what me and my mum can offer.

Thanks
Maya
