I feel really bad doing this... I know the last thing you want when you ask for a recommendation is someone preaching at you. So I'm really sorry. But I just want to ask you if you really have to replace your lawn with slabs? Is it all of it or just a little bit? Is there a reason you can't have a bit of grass? What about replacing it with something else organic that is low maintenance?

Just think about biodiversity, the insects, the butterflies,.. or even the hedgehogs if you are lucky to live where you might have little prickly visitors...

And if you are doing work on your garden,I highly recommend reading the book "one garden against the world" by Kate Bradbury, is it a wonderful optimistic read full of life.

I know, none of us are perfect, and there might be a good reason you can't cope with grass, but I just wanted to stick up for the non-human people in our community.

Thanks for reading

Thanks Brihoney. I’m with you all the way on this. It’s with a heavy heart we’re doing this as it’s a shady garden and the lawn has turned into a quagmire. But it’s only 24 slabs going down as we’ve left two planting areas where the sun does hit and already have a bug hotel, bee-loving plants etc etc :D
