Is it worth buying a Miele Dishwasher???

Postby Denwand » Mon Jun 10, 2024 7:51 am

Hi all,

I am a bit of a Miele fan after my Miele washing machine has outlasted all of my previous Siemans/Bosch etc ones by a large margin - 10 years and still going strong (touch wood)

I am asking since my Bosch Dishwasher has gone phutt in exactly the same way as my last Bosch and after a similar time (8 years) for the same reason (leaking internally).

The Bosch service engineer for the last one had advised not to get it fixed as "It was old" and fixing one leak could be followed by other leaks as it's components gave up the ghost!

So can anyone advise how reliable Miele Dishwashers are in practice? - Thanks in advance!

I can’t speak to Miele - but I love my GAGGENAU.
Eight years and zero problems.
The racks are super sturdy and roll in/out lovely vs my friends who opted for much cheaper appliances.

I would say yes. We have had one for 3 years and so far no problems at all. It is also quieter than our last AEG one although I am not sure if that says much as the AEG one was a very cheap model. Like the above poster I also like the drawer for cutlery.

100% yes... our old one lasted 20+ years before it finally conked out and I felt quite emotional seeing it taken out of the door as it felt like an old friend, having moved house twice with us!  After oooh - all of two minutes' thought about it - we ordered the exact same model just slightly updated, on the basis that we probably won't have to replace it for another 20 years (well, it's always good to be optimistic).  It's the bottom of the range (freestanding) which is not completely outrageous price-wise - we chose that because we were so happy with the brand and model and also we were advised by the repair man who tried to save our old one that, with the more expensive machines going up the range, you are really only paying for expensive knick-knacks which most people (including us) don't want or need.  The Miele delivery guy said my machine was not the oldest he'd come across - he'd recently delivered to a woman whose Miele dishwasher lasted 30 years. I was slightly miffed as I thought mine was a record-breaker!  The proof of the pudding, or rather the dishwasher...!
