You may not know that I'm a qualified alpine and telemark ski instructor having worked 10 full seasons and, in addition, skied all over the globe. I’m delighted to offer this great trip to really work on your off piste skills, together with an introduction to the wonderful world of ski touring or telemark. I’ve been skiing in Sweden over the last few seasons and it’s wonderful, with a high standard of accommodation and services. Depending on numbers there will be an additional highly qualified coach with a maximum ratio of 6::1
Åre is Scandinavia’s largest resort, there are more than 1,000 acres of terrain to explore over three areas. Much of the skiing is tree-lined, with spectacular views of the lake as you descend. One thing that really sets Åre apart from other resorts is its easy access to a vast expanse of off-piste terrain. Wide, open and relatively gentle, you don’t need to be an off-piste expert to enjoy it. There are other challenges to discover and see the best of Åre.

SUNDAY 9th FEBRUARY
- 11.30 - 15.00 - Fly out from Gatwick to Trondheim
- 1.5hr transfer to Are and central accommodation in own room
- Get ski gear etc sorted
- Skiing orientation around Åre with me together with the option of night skiing too available throughout the week.
- Meet up with guide for day of off piste guiding in the Åre backbowls
- Drive to Storuvlan for day of ski touring. Beautiful area with 2 summits possible and often the only people there.
- OR initiation into Telemark, the original form of skiing. I am a level 1 coach through the IASI in Telemark
- Ski days around Åre to put into practice your new found skills and have a lot of fun!
- Further video analysis of coaching points and progress
- On the slope BBQ Friday lunchtime
- Final evening supper in Are at great local restaurant
- Time to pack up before returning to Trondheim to Gatwick
