Where to sell?

Postby India » Mon Mar 05, 2012 10:12 am

I have lots and lots of unworn brand new Chanel shoes, designer handbags, designer clothes, etc and need to de-clutter and raise some finaces at the same time, apart from the obvious e-bay, anyone any ideas as to where would be best to sell all this stuff. Any advice much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Thank you for your quick response. Do you know the % split? If it is 50-50 then I may be better off selling directly, but will go and have a look.

Hi
Your post brings me back to many moons ago, thanks :).
I once was in your situation (in paris though) so instead of splitting the amount, i organised a sale in a bar, invited all my address book (i had made a nice flyer) who brought friends too. I did a v good sale, and we all had a fab evening drinking nice wines. So nice, that we did it again a year later (at this point 2 other friends joined me) and again had a great evening. You should give it a go. After the second one, i moved to london and havent done it since. I am sure it would work.
Good luck (lucky you). Sx

Not sure what you are asking is a fake, my post or the reply about Dee and Me, if so then no neither are fake, I have just been to meet Dee and she has the most fabulous shop in Webbs Road, selling fantastic designer clothes and shoes, was very very impressed and she seemed absolutely genuine.

You could also try www.covetique.com/

It's like ebay but only for designer clothes and everything is checked by the team before it's sold so they don't sell fakes. This means they get better prices than ebay.

Thank you - have signed up to Covetique as well, but they charge a whopping 37.5% commission on sales plus VAT @ 20% on the selling price, didn't know that until I had registered, so may as well sell direct or through people like Dee & Me. Love the idea of a sale in a bar! Perhaps do one in one of the many Clapham cafes. Thanks for all the fabulous and prompt respones - much appreciated.

I meant to the post right after me. If you read Annabel answer on a thread called "fake post", this is what she us advising to do.

No it is not, this is a genuine post and genuine replies, I have followed up all the responses individually, why would anyone even think of suggesting this is fake....never used this phrase but please go and get a life, if you think it is fake ignore it.

I think some people dont have much trust in people nowadays, good luck with your selling, I think its good you'e not just going down the ebay route, Ebay has such a monopoly on things and its a good idea to support local and smaller businesses.

What a funny response, India! Especially when Supergirl gave you some good advice!

I think (though supergirl please correct me if I misunderstand) that Supergirl was suggesting that the post by nicola.c might be a fake....because Nicola joined NVN about 3 mins before posting her comment!! And it's the only comment she's made. So it does seem very fishy.

I suspect what may have happened is that Dee and Me are a new shop, want to shout about what they're doing (good for them) and possibly asked a happy customer (nicola) to join NVN and post about her experience in this thread. At least that's what I hope.

Funny really as your absolute defensiveness about this now has made me wonder whether the whole thing IS a fake set up by Dee and Me to advertise! :?

I hope not! :)
