which scooter would you recommend for a 6 years old boy? Post Reply

Hi there, I'm looking to buy a scooter for my 6 years old son for Christmas. there are so many models on the market, at very different prices, I don't know how to choose.
Do you have any recommendations? I'd like to spend £30 to £50.

in my view, the best scooter for that age group is the maxi micro scooter, but they are over £90

Thank you both! I note that you both recommend scooters with 2 front wheels, any particular reasons for that? I would rather go for one wheel only... any further advice welcome!

my daughter tried the two-wheel scooters but although I am sure she would have got the hang of it, she preferred the "safe" feel of the 3 wheels. My suggestion is to take your son to John lewis or halfords - where you can try the scooter around the shop - and you can decide from that.

Do you mean micro scooters? THey have their own website micro-scooters.co.uk, or john lewis do a good range, or locally try QT toys on Northcote Road.
