holidays with kids

Postby susanh » Mon Aug 11, 2008 11:01 pm

Help!

The good news is that we've suddenly got the time off for a quick week away at the end of the month but the bad news is I have no idea where to go. Two children: 4 and 2 years old. Somewhere hot and not too expensive - any ideas anyone?

Long haul? Short haul? Budget? Fly? Drive?

Share some info and we might be able to help!

thanks for the quick reply!

we want to go somewhere hot and so we know we need to fly. More than three hours flight seems too much for the kids so it's probably Europe. Don't want to camp but doesn't have to be a posh hotel. What we really want are decent kids clubs so that we don't feel too guilty about trying to lie by the pool for at least an hour a day!

We'll do some digging here at Nappyvalley but ideas off the top of our head:

1) Mark Warner - their website has some great last minute deals

We went last year and got four of us half board in a lovely apartment for about 4k. Expensive as a toal figure but when you think that included meals and wine and activities and kids club then it wasn't too bad.

2) Sunsail

Bit more jolly hockeysticks but good for the active sailor

3) La Manga

We've heard great things about their sports clubs for kids.

4) Travel Matters are a travel agency based on Nightingale Lane who really know their stuff. Their knowledge of France is excellent. http://www.travelmatters.co.uk/

We'll do some more digging but please let us know if thats of any use...

Cheers
