Hi
This is what I do:

1. takeaways: yes. If its up to £25 about £1 and over £30 I tip £2
2. supermarket delivery: yes about £2
3. DPD/Yodel/TNT etc: not at all
4. Postman: yes at Christmas

I think you're right about how that isn't logical but it does feel right.

I don't tip the postman when I have to sign for something so I wouldn't want to tip the DPD person (I have a better relationship with the postman than DPD!) but I DO tip the postman at Christmas.

I tip takeaway delivery drivers.

I never tip the supermarket delivery and as for courier delivery companies. Ha!

I tip takeaway delivery drivers a couple of quid, but that is easy as I already have the money out.....

I tip the supermarket delivery guy a fiver at Christmas, but never otherwise. It's never the same person twice, I think if it was then I might be more inclined to tip.

Our lovely postman gets a tenner at Christmas, as does the milkman.

I really hate the etiquette of tipping, I never know what the right thing is!

Do people tip hairdressers and beauticians? I tend to give the hairdresser £5 and the beautician £2-3 for a pedi. Is that stingy or generous - who knows?!

I wouldn't dream of tipping the regular delivery drivers, although one of them was very nice so maybe I should have..... ??

I only tip the the restaurant takeaway delivery drivers. It hadn't occurred to me to tip couriers or supermarket delivery people! There are so many different ones anyway that I don't think there would be any goodwill benefit from tipping and it would cost me a fortune! Is this a first world problem or a sign of too much wealth in nappy valley that we are even worrying about this?!

Takeaway riders/drivers as I figure they're pretty much at the bottom of the pay scale and it's not a great job.
