Lawyer/Mediator recommendation for partnership separation

Postby viva » Mon Apr 17, 2017 9:32 am

I need some advice/recommendations please. My parter and I are in the process of separating - we are not married and we have a 4 yr old son. Everything is amicable for now, but we thought it best if we both had a lawyer in order to organise financial affairs and agreements so that further down the line, should anything go wrong, we have legal agreement in place re what we are doing. In addition to this I don't really know what my rights are as we are not married re maintenance etc. So can anyone offer any advice and or recommend a lawyer/mediator who could help? Thank you!

Not sure if this helps, but an extraordinarily, decent pragmatic lawyer that I have dealt with for years (though never on anything remotely like this) is Alexandra Adam at Gregsons in Wimbledon. One thing that really, really impressed me was when I wanted to start litigation over something that would have earned her lots, and she said 'do you really want to do this?'

Anne McAllister is an Associate Solicitor and Mediator with Wimbledon based Morrisons Solicitors.

She specialises in mediation. Her phone number is 0208 971 1080.

She gave a lovely talk on her role as a mediator and I believe you''d find her reassuring to have an initial chat with.

All the best!
