The Tiffin Girls’ School

Postby Annabel (admin) » Thu Nov 13, 2008 9:08 pm

Located in leafy Kingston Upon Thames, Tiffin Girls is one of the most acclaimed girls’ state schools in the country. 905 pupils. Regularly tops the league tables and gives the best girls’ independent schools a run for their money. Strong on music, drama and sport, great atmosphere, cosmopolitan mix of pupils. But before you rush to apply, be warned that Tiffin Girls’ is extremely hard to get into. It’s a grammar school, so entrance is by exam only (verbal and non-verbal reasoning), with around 900 girls vying for 120 places. The school insists coaching isn’t necessary but most successful applicants say the opposite. Roughly 18-24 go on to Oxbridge and the 15-20 to medical school. Ages 11-18.
