Re: Tasers issued to all frontline police after tragic murder of Pc Andrew Harper

I wonder what the self defence training is like now?  When I was in the Police from 1983-1992 it was rubbish and the batons/truncheons were a waste of time too.  Tasers are a good idea if the training to support their use is good too.  After I got my first kicking, trying to arrest a guy on a stolen...

Re: The Jeremy Woods Memorial Fund at Clapham Common Tennis Courts

Thanks to your donations we have reached our £1000 target already.  I hope this will be enormous comfort to his family and demonstrates his popularity in the community.

Please do let me know if you would like to appear in the tournament afternoon.

Many thanks,

Julian

I would prepare myself to invite another friend, more deserving or more grateful, rather than continue in that awkward situation that undoubtly will pollute your holiday, your enjoyment or your relationship with your daughter.

Bold but a good call!

Agreed Chicken Riot is good. Not sure they quite know if they are fast food, take away or eat in - but food is good. Worth a visit.

Gave it a try last weekend.  Quite good and a definite step up from KFC.  Bold step opening opposite Nando's though.

Re: Emmanuel school

Our daughter has just finished Hill Form.  We couldn't be happier with the school.  We went to the prizegiving on Saturday where the Head Master reiterated the goal to develop well rounded, confident, good hearted children (rather than academic robots).  Works for us.

Re: Would you hire a Jehovah's Witness Nanny?

That's a really interesting question.  My instinct is that if you want to employ her, you need to research the JW principles and see if they conflict with your own.  Then address that directly with the prospective Nanny and try and set clear guidelines.  I imagine she would appreciate that too.  Goo...
