Personally I agree with the verdict on Milk. It is very much a case of the Emporer's New Clothes for me. Queues around the block in Balham a place that is chokka with good brunch places, why bother? It's just not that good! The food is tasty, good ingredients but am I queing? NO. Am I paying £6 for a slice of toast, also no. And the coffees are served in thimbles. They bought Juliette's to Tooting and it is dingy, dark and arsey service and they still charge these BS prices. As my Grandad would say, Get out of it!
Now, Chez Bruce I will defend to the end. I went there on Saturday and that place just gets better and better. It is michelen starred, the food is literally out of this world, the service, the wine it is just everything you want from a great meal. I did not go there for a 'good value' meal. I went there for something special. I expect to pay what it is worth, I go there once every 5 years because of this but I wouldn't change a thing.
People need to stop bargain hunting in michelen star restaurants and Gen Z **** take brunch places need to stop charging you £6 for a piece of bread.
In any case what a nice situation to be in where we have so much choice and eating out is even an option.
